At 1 PM, F-16s with the South Carolina Air National Guard's 169th Fighter Wing out of McEntire Joint Base will start the event, followed by a C-17 from the 437th Airlift Wing based at Joint Base Charleston and a flight of Apache helicopters in formation from the South Carolina Army National Guard's Alpha Company, 1-151st Attack Battalion also out of McEntire Joint Base. The aircraft will make their way down the coastline, beginning around Cherry Grove in North Myrtle Beach and ending in the Beaufort/Bluffton area in the Lowcountry. Following the active military aircraft will be an all-volunteer brigade of Warbirds, a civilian-owned and flown vintage plane community that will include T-34s, T-6s, and T-28s.

Our Vision

To create an accessible opportunity for South Carolina beachgoers to honor our armed forces by organizing a “Salute from the Shore” of a military flyover of the entire South Carolina coast each Independence Day. Our vision is to unite participants in a synchronized Salute to our troops that will be shared across the nation and around the world.
