At 2 PM on the Fourth of July, a huge C-17 will fly low over the entire SC Coast. Salute America and the people who make it great by joining us on the beach in a special tribute to our Armed Forces.

Congratulations to the South Carolina Gamecocks on their National Championship We are proud to have South Carolina represented in such a positive way by Ray Tanner’s Team.

Their win was as inspiring as it was satisfying to many in South Carolina. We are proud of the Gamecocks for bringing home the championship for our national sport. What could be more American than that? The Fourth of July!

Help us celebrate our nation’s Independence Day on the 4th by saluting our troops from the beaches of South Carolina.

As of June 22, the 2010 Salute from the Shore has received a commitment from Charleston Air Force Base to route an existing flight over the coast of South Carolina! At 2:00 PM on the Fourth of July, a massive C-17 transport plane will begin its low-altitude run over the entire South Carolina coast, beginning in North Myrtle Beach. This is the culmination of a lot of work by a lot of patriotic Americans, including contributions of time and energy from many former and current members of our military.

We hope you are as excited as we are about celebrating the Fourth of July with a memorable and unique tribute to our armed forces around the world.

A special thanks to the Town of Pawleys Island for providing the primary venue for the event. We hope you can watch the Annual Pawley’s Island Parade and then join us on the beaches wearing and waving your red, white and blue at 2:00 PM on the Fourth! However, the plane will be over the entire coast that afternoon, so come out and support the troops by taking photos and videos that we can post here for the world to see.
